A common misconception about starting CrossFit...

“I’m not fit enough to do that.”

“I need to lose weight/get strong before starting CrossFit.”

“I could never do that stuff.”

All of these excuses are false. They are just excuses preventing you from starting your journey to becoming a better version of yourself.

You do NOT need to be fit, strong, or any certain weight, age, or level of fitness to workout. Delaware Fit Factory, and many CrossFit gyms like ours, exist TO HELP YOU BECOME fit, strong, healthy, and just BETTER.

Analogy time. If you were struggling to learn Spanish, would you wait until you knew Spanish to hire a tutor or sign up for a class? No. If you had no idea how to pour a concrete patio behind your house, would you pour concrete over and over hoping to eventually have your patio? You might, but you probably shouldn’t. If you want to plan for your retirement or invest, would you wait until you were already wealthy enough to do so before seeking the expertise of a financial planner. No, that would be a huge waste of time and you would likely not be very efficient.

A Spanish teacher, a general contractor, and a financial planner would all help you overcome your hurdles and progress you toward your goals. Add our awesome team of coaches to that list of professionals trained to help take you from where you are now to where you want to be.

“While we understand that walking into your local CrossFit affiliate can be intimidating, there is truly no better place for you to take that first step. CrossFit trainers are experts in the art of scaling and modifying workouts to meet you where you are. Much like a math tutor can break down the complexities of algebra and create structured drills for you to practice so you can improve, a CrossFit trainer will do the same for complex functional exercises.” - Dan Hollingsworth, CF-L4

Stop telling yourself you are not strong enough. Stop saying you need to get fit first. Stop making excuses. As the well-known Zig Ziglar quote states, “You do not have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” Start now.
